Barber shop stories I



Lester Johnson, barber in Brewerytown, shows a knife wound from his gang and drug dealing days back in the 1970s and tells a story of shooting the guy who stabbed him. Johnson stills lives in a rough part of Philadelphia where he grew up.

Neugent, 79, first black Mounted Patrol officer of the Philadelphia Police Department and a long time member of the Cowboys and Girls Association of Philadelphia, who passed away a week earlier.

Pool Opening

These two images are from my ongoing project on the neighborhood where I live in Philadelphia. A pool just opened across the street from our house and I was there to cover it. The opening has been postponed twice so kids were anxious to get into the water.
